About the event

This property is approved to become a Trust for Nature property, which means that it will be kept for the State in perpetuity for animals and plants to thrive and people to enjoy. Some of the trees on the property are more than  from 400 years old. The land is being rehabilitated, in order to repair the damaging effects of past grazing, using plants from the Tree Project.

The property fronts the Campaspe River, which provides an ideal spot for platypus monitoring.

We are planning an afternoon of tree planting from 3pm , a cup of tea, and then an early evening of platypus watching for an hour before sunset (approximately 5:30 to 7pm). Please note, to see platypus, watchers will have to sit quietly and stay still for periods of time. Bring a torch with with red cellophane over the light so you can find your way after sunset without disturbing animals.

You will need a smartphone to take part in the platy project, as a photo and location marking are part of the requirements. It's not hard though so don't be put off!
